ANNUAL GRACE GALA & AUCTION 2024
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Why should I attend the Auction?
A: It’s a fun way to socialize with other parents and faculty and raise money for a good cause.
Q: How do I purchase tickets?
A: Tickets will be available for online credit card purchase on Wednesday, October 9 at 12pm.
Q: Do I have to come with a partner or date?
A: Absolutely not! Many people attend with a Grace friend, a group of Grace friends, or alone.
Q: How does seating work for dinner?
A: There will be assigned seating, and the Gala committee will group tables to ensure that you will be with people you know. If you buy a standard ticket, you’ll typically be seated with other parents who have a child the same grade as at least one of your children. Faculty typically will be seated together. Or, if you would like to come with a pre-set group, we offer a chance to buy a reserved table for up to 12 guests of your choice.
Q: What should I wear?
A: Costumes are encouraged. Our theme this year is “Camp Grace,” so embrace memories of your days of summer camp and think campfires, s'mores, stargazing, hiking, wildlife, warm beverages, songs, games, and more! There are prizes for the best costumes. If you don’t enjoy costumes, just come as yourself!
Q: Where does the money raised at the auction go?
A: Event proceeds will go towards enhancing Grace's Arts & Sciences programs by transforming the 2nd floor art classroom into a vibrant Design Lab that will foster creativity, curiosity, exploration and collaboration in Art and STREAM classes for years to come!
Q: Are attendees required to bid on Auction items?
A: Not at all! The Auction is a fundraiser for Grace, but it’s also a gathering of the community and an opportunity to enjoy time together.
Q. How does the bidding work?
A. A few days before the Gala, you will be invited to register with Greater Giving online, which is the platform you will use to view auction items and access the online bidding process. It’s free and easy to use! There will be four types of auction item bidding/purchasing options:
1. Online Auction Items (Bid Online) - these will be items that you will place bids on, with the highest bidder winning the item at the close of the auction.
2. Live Auction Items (Bid In-Person) - these are a selection of items that will be presented for live bidding at the gala event for guests in attendance to bid on.
3. Sign-On Parties (Buy Now Online) - these party "spots" will be available for purchase at a fixed price. There will be a set amount of spots available and are while supplies last.
4. Raffle Items (Buy Now Online) - raffle tickets for a selection of items will be available at a fixed price for a chance to win.
Q. Do I have to attend the event to bid on auction items?
A. No, everyone will be able to register and bid on any online auction items or purchase raffle tickets and sign-on party spots you may be interested in. For the live auction, you do need to be present on the night of the Gala to bid and win.
Q. What is a “Sign-On Party”?
A. A “Sign-On Party” is an event that will take place on a future date, hosted by a Grace parent or faculty member. Rather than bidding, a limited number of tickets are available for purchase at a fixed price. Spaces are limited and can go quickly! These are typically popular events, like a sleepover at Grace for students or a wine tasting party at a parent’s house for the adults. Each “sign-on party ticket” purchased will allow one person the opportunity to enjoy the generosity of our hosts and participate in the event.
